Christmas Break at the Westin

Well we made it after a long day of traveling. This is the first time every flight of ours was delayed in leaving and late to arrive! Jacob was so glad to hit the sheets after being up all day! We picked up Isabella at 10:30 am the next morning. She is such a good girl. She has a little cold though does not let it bother her. She is eating baby foods this time. How fun! We give her banana cereal in the morning and then Daddy mashes up some real bananas for her, which she loves!! For lunch she will eat a whole jar of vegatables or fruit. Like usual meeting so many nice people down here from our agency and others. Whether is typical in the 70's. Of course we have been swimming everyday so far. Hope to get more time to upate soon. Here are some photos for now.... Enjoy!

Hopefully some newer pictures to come as it has been a rough couple of days. Rach has been sick since Tuesday and Jacob woke up this morning sick now too. Luckily this time around we had a prescription for Rachel in case she became sick again. We were not prepared for Jacob being sick as he was fine last time. We learned you can buy anything from a pharmacy down here without a Doctor to call in a script. Glad I have internet access as the language barrier to translate teaspoons to ML was not easy. So I decided to go online which took only seconds. Isabella is being a perfect little Daddy's girl (just the way I like it).

October Visit

Hello Friends and Family we are having a great time in Guatemala with Isabella. Wow we can't believe how much she has changed. She giggles and smiles so much we love it! We met the Foster Moms daughter on pickup. She was so sweet, she helped us translate between the Foster Mom and us. We also just enjoyed hearing from her daughter how smart and good Isabella is. We sure are lucky to have such a great foster family who cares for and loves her so much. We have met a lot of nice people down here who are also visiting there babies. Like usual everybody at the Westin is so nice and accomodating. Today (Tuesday) Isabella had her first swim lesson. She was a natural and loved the water (Or just being in Daddy's arms). Isabella even helped Jaocb with some of his homework. The weather down here is in the 70's. Always rains in the afternoon for a little then clears up. Lots of swimming which of course Jacob likes. Enjoy the pictures. Please leave us a comment below.....

August 20th 2007 - Surprise Visit Pictures

Today we received some surprise visit pictures from August 10th. Every couple of weeks our Agency does a surprise visit to check on our baby. She is now 8 lbs 11 ozs. They sure feed them down there. She also got her ears pierced at the Doctors office. It is a big part of there culture to have the babies ears pierced. Our foster Mom had asked us our permission to have them done.

Well its Saturday and today we left for Guatemala at 5:30am. Everthing was going great until we got close to Houston. There were bad storms so they could not land on time. They took us to the South and then headed back up to Houston to avoid the storms. We only had an hour time to change planes which was on the other side of the airport in the International terminal. The flight attendant did not think we would make our flight. Well God was watching out for us that day, we made our flight and landed in Guatemala safe and ontime. Our driver picked us up and we headed to Antigua. They are all crazy drivers. Jacob asked what alto meant and our driver told him it is their stop sign. Jacob said how come they don't stop, the driver Edwin said it is just a suggestion. We stayed at Porto Hotel Antigua which was beautiful. Jacob of course loved the swimming pool. He met a girl named Molly from Chicago who he played with for awile. We did alot of walking on all those cobble stone roads. We saw two big volcanoes Agua and Fiago.

The streets were very busy. Sunday morning our driver came back and gave us a tour. We first stopped at the Jade factory. They gave us a tour of the factory, museum and of course then we bought some Jade. Next stop we went to look for a Harley Davidson shirt. Found a knock off and bought it. Then we went to the market for gifts. I am glad we had our driver/translater with us. That was quite an experience. Jacob thought it was funny kids younger than him would ask him "Mister how much you pay". We stopped at McDonalds and then off to the Westin. Checked in at the Westin which is beautiful. Tomorrows the big day.

Worth the Wait!!

Well everyone we finally received our referral last night of our little girl. What a birthday gift for Daddy. Her name is Isabella Rachel Wagner. She was born on June 25th at 11:30 am. She weighed 6 lbs 5 oz and is 45.6 cm in length. We can't wait to finally hold her we will leave for Guatemala a week from Saturday. The next step now is signing the Power of Attorney and DNA match. Hopefully the process will go smoothly for us from here on out! We will update new photos from Guatemala!!

Antigua is such a beautiful place! I can not wait to go back and to be able to take my family with me this time around. It has been 2 years since I was here as a day of relaxation from our mission trip to the squatter's village of Guatemala.

We have talked about adoption for the last couple of years. We finally made it real on February 15th 2007 when we signed our contract with our agency For This Child based in Dallas, TX. We were a little worried about not having a local office to go to with questions but everybody has been great to work with. We can't say enough about our case worker Linda she has just been awesome to work with (She cracks me up). I love that fact that everybody has been through adoption already so they really know what we are going through.

We are done with the paperwork chase!! Yea... We sent our Dossier to Guatemala on April 13th 2007. Now we are anxiously awaiting a referral of our baby girl..
